It's jarring to see voices a dog in the comedy "Absolutely Anything," out later this summer), spouting the sort of lines that are imbued with new meaning in the wake of his ing.
Williams plays Nolan, a 60-year-old closeted man stuck in a marriage he doesn't want, working a dead-end bank job for more than 25 years, and wondering how his life got so far from happy.
"Nothing turned out the way I thought, I guess," he says.
One night on the way home from work, Nolan takes a sudden detour down an unfamiliar road, and ends up picking up Leo (newcomer Bob Odenkirk) start to notice something's different, and soon, Nolan is ready for the change he so dreaded before.
"Maybe it's never too late to start living the life you really want," Odenkirk's character tells Nolan, another line infused with bittersweet context.
"Boulevard" is due in theaters on July 17.
